BVSC Upsets Vasas II in NB II Opener, Defying Heavy Odds for Road Victory
BUDAPEST (April 20, 2026) (Interstat) — BVSC opened its NB II season with a 2-0 road upset of Vasas II on Monday at Illovszky Rudolf Stadion, defying a significant pregame projection.
Interstat’s metrics heavily favored the home side, giving Vasas II an 84.20 percent probability to win and simulating a 1-0 victory. BVSC overturned that forecast with two quick second-half goals. Balázs Farkas broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute, followed by a strike from Kornél Csernik in the 60th minute.
The result gives BVSC a winning start in the Hungarian second division, moving to 1-0, while Vasas II begins its campaign 0-1.
