PERUGIA, Italy (Interstat) — Andrea La Mantia’s 70th-minute strike was the difference as visiting AS Gubbio 1910 defeated AC Perugia Calcio 1-0 in a Serie C match Sunday at Stadio Renato Curi.

The result defied pre-match projections, as statistical models heavily favored the home side. The lone goal ended Gubbio’s four-match winless streak in league play and handed Perugia its sixth loss of the campaign. Both clubs remain in the lower half of the table with middling records. The victory provides a crucial road result for Gubbio, while Perugia’s struggles at home continue.
