Forest Green Rovers vs Wealdstone FC
FOREST GREEN ROVERS HOST WEALDSTONE IN FA TROPHY CLASH
GLOUCESTERSHIRE, England (Interstat) — Forest Green Rovers will look to halt a recent slide when they host Wealdstone FC in an FA Trophy matchup on Saturday.
The match at The New Lawn pits a struggling Forest Green side against a Wealdstone team carrying momentum from a cup upset.
Forest Green, the home side, enters on a three-match winless run in all competitions. Their most recent result was a 3-2 defeat at Scunthorpe United on Jan. 24. Before that, they played to a 1-1 draw with Altrincham on Jan. 21. Their form has been inconsistent, with just two wins in their last eight matches across all competitions.
A focal point of the preview is the previous meeting between these clubs this season. They played to a 1-1 draw in league action on Nov. 22, 2025, at The New Lawn.
In contrast, Wealdstone arrives following a confidence-boosting 1-0 victory over Dagenham & Redbridge in the previous round of the FA Trophy on Jan. 10. Their schedule has been light, with only one other match since mid-December, a 2-1 win over Cheshunt on Dec. 13.
The statistical service Interstat projects a tight contest, simulating a 1-0 victory for the visiting Wealdstone side.
This match represents a significant challenge for Forest Green manager Steve Cotterill. His team’s defense has conceded multiple goals in several recent outings. Wealdstone manager Stuart Maynard will aim to set up his side to be compact and exploit any counter-attacking opportunities, as they did successfully against Dagenham.
The FA Trophy provides a diversion from league duties for both clubs. Forest Green faces a congested National League schedule in February, with matches against Woking, York City and Rochdale immediately following this cup tie.
Saturday’s winner will advance in the historic knockout competition, which is open to clubs in England’s fifth through eighth tiers. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. local time at The New Lawn in Nailsworth.
