METLAOUI, Tunisia (Jan. 23, 2026) (Interstat) — Metlaoui and Soliman played to a 2-2 draw Friday in a Tunisian Ligue 1 match at Stade Municipal de Métlaoui. The result defied pre-game projections that heavily favored the home side.

Soliman opened the scoring in the 23rd minute on a left-footed goal from Fares Meskini. Metlaoui’s Cherif Bodian equalized with a right-footed strike in the 64th minute. Soliman appeared to secure a road victory when Helmi Jouidi scored in the fifth minute of second-half stoppage time, but Metlaoui answered moments later to salvage the draw. Interstat’s game simulator had projected a 1-1 finish, though its ELO system gave Metlaoui a 75.4% probability to win. Both teams open their league campaigns with a draw.
