SANTA BÁRBARA, Costa Rica (Interstat) — Herediano delivered a commanding 3-0 victory over Perez Zeledon in Primera División play Saturday at Estadio Carlos Alvarado.

Jesús Rubio opened the scoring in the 21st minute, followed by a goal from Ronaldo Araya in the 30th. Herediano added a third after halftime to seal the win, outperforming statistical projections that heavily favored them.

The result improves Herediano’s league record to 12 wins, 9 losses and 7 draws. Perez Zeledon, shut out for the second time in three matches, moves to an even 10-10-10 in the competition. Herediano has now won both meetings between the clubs this season.
