SAN JUAN DE TÍBÁS, Costa Rica (Interstat) — Deportivo Saprissa opened its Primera División campaign with a 2-1 victory over San Carlos on Sunday, matching a pregame projection exactly. The home side secured the win at Estadio Ricardo Saprissa Aymá with two rapid-fire first-half goals. Brian Martínez broke the deadlock for Saprissa in the 37th minute, followed by a strike from Tomás Rodríguez just four minutes later. San Carlos found a response before halftime but could not complete the comeback. The result aligned with a Interstat simulator forecast and a model that gave Saprissa a 92% probability to win. Both clubs began their league seasons with their first official result of the campaign.
