UTRECHT, Netherlands (Interstat) — Oussama Targhalline scored an early goal off the bench to lift Feyenoord to a 1-0 victory over Utrecht in the Eredivisie on Sunday at Stadion Galgenwaard.

The substitute forward found the net in the 10th minute, assisted by Timon Wellenreuther, for the game’s only score. The result defied pregame projections that heavily favored the home side.

The match turned chippy with six yellow cards issued. Utrecht’s Miguel Rodríguez received a red card in the 78th minute, reducing his side to 10 men while trailing.

With the win, Feyenoord begins its league campaign 1-0, while Utrecht starts 0-1.
