NAC Breda vs Ajax
AP Sports Preview
AMSTERDAM (Interstat) — Ajax travels to NAC Breda on Saturday, April 25, in an Eredivisie clash that pits a resurgent visiting side against a home team desperate to halt a slide.
Ajax enters the match with momentum, coming off a 4-2 friendly victory over German side Paderborn on April 12. That result extends a strong run for Ajax, which also posted a 3-0 league win over Heracles on April 11. However, consistency has been elusive: Ajax lost 2-1 to Twente on April 4 and drew 1-1 with Feyenoord on March 22. Overall, Ajax holds a 6-2-2 record over its last 10 league contests, with notable wins over Fortuna Sittard (4-1) and Volendam (2-0) but draws against AZ and Excelsior.
NAC Breda, meanwhile, is struggling. The club managed only a 1-1 draw with Fortuna Sittard on April 12 and suffered a 4-1 defeat at Almere City on April 11. Prior to that, NAC played to a scoreless draw against Jong Sparta on April 5. The team’s form has been erratic: a 6-0 demolition of Willem II on March 14 was followed by a 3-0 loss to Telstar on Feb. 27 and a 4-1 drubbing by Almere City. NAC’s record over its last 10 matches includes four losses, three draws and three wins.
In the most recent head-to-head meeting, Ajax defeated NAC Breda 2-1 on Sept. 27, 2025, in Amsterdam. Three of the last four encounters have been decided by one goal.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 2-1 victory for Ajax.
Ajax’s busy schedule includes a home match against PSV on May 2, followed by Utrecht on May 10 and a Europa Conference League clash at Bodø/Glimt on May 16. NAC Breda travels to Utrecht on May 2, then hosts Heerenveen on May 10 before visiting AZ on May 17.
Kickoff is set for Saturday at Rat Verlegh Stadium.
