ALKMAAR, Netherlands (Interstat) — AZ began its Eredivisie campaign with a commanding 4-0 victory over Heracles at AFAS Stadion on Sunday.

The home side controlled the match from the start, with forward Troy Parrott opening the scoring in the fifth minute. Midfielder Sven Mijnans doubled the lead just before halftime in first-half stoppage time. Forward Mees De Wit and midfielder Isak Jensen added second-half goals in the 74th and 84th minutes to complete the rout.

AZ’s substitutes provided a creative spark, accounting for all five assists in the match. Heracles, which saw four players receive yellow cards, was held without a goal. The result defied the pregame projection from Interstat, which had simulated a closer 2-1 outcome for AZ.
