ZWOLLE, Netherlands (Interstat) — PEC Zwolle and FC Groningen opened their Eredivisie seasons with a 1-1 draw Friday at MAC³PARK Stadion.

The match saw a frantic two-minute span decide the outcome. Substitute Koen Kostons broke the deadlock for the hosts in the 82nd minute, assisted by Jorg Schreuders. Groningen responded immediately, with Thom van Bergen equalizing just two minutes later, set up by Younes Taha.

The result leaves both clubs with identical records of one draw and no wins to start the league campaign. The draw aligned with the pregame projection from Interstat, which gave Zwolle a 59.7% probability to win.

The match featured three yellow cards, issued to Younes Taha, Jorg Schreuders and Tyrique Mercera.
