NEC Routs Heracles 4‑1 in Eredivisie Season Opener Behind Zeefuik’s Offensive Spark
NIJMEGEN, Netherlands (Interstat) — NEC opened its Eredivisie campaign with a commanding 4-1 victory over Heracles at Goffertstadion on Saturday.
The home side dominated early, with Bryan Linssen scoring in the 17th minute. Substitute Lequincio Zeefuik then made a decisive impact, scoring in the 23rd and assisting Tjaronn Chery’s goal in the 42nd for a 3-0 halftime lead. Heracles found a consolation goal through Başar Önal in the second half before NEC’s Noé Lebreton capped the scoring in the 90th minute. The result exceeded statistical projections, as NEC’s win probability was pegged at 67.6 percent pre-match. Both Zeefuik and Heracles substitute Ivan Mesík received late yellow cards in stoppage time.
