ALTRINCHAM, England (Interstat) — Altrincham and Morecambe opened their National League seasons with a 1-1 draw Tuesday at The J. Davidson Stadium. The result defied pregame projections that heavily favored the home side.

Morecambe substitute Jack Nolan broke the deadlock in the 48th minute, assisted by Ben Williams. Altrincham responded quickly, with midfielder Oliver Crankshaw equalizing in the 56th minute off a pass from Joshua Grant. The match featured three yellow cards, issued to Williams, Grant and Altrincham’s Tylor Golden.

Interstat’s pregame model gave Altrincham a 76.8% chance to win, precisely projecting the final score. Both clubs now hold identical records across all competitions this season: zero wins, zero losses and one draw.
