POTENZA, Italy (Interstat) — Guglielmo Mignani’s goal just before halftime lifted Benevento to a 1-0 victory over Potenza Calcio in a Serie C match Sunday at Stadio Comunale Alfredo Viviani.

The decisive moment came in the 49th minute when Mignani found the net. The visiting side, which entered the match with a strong season record, managed the game effectively thereafter to secure the road win. The result defied the pregame projection from Interstat’s simulator, which had forecast a 1-1 draw.

The victory extends Benevento’s strong form in the league campaign. Potenza Calcio, playing at home, was unable to generate an equalizer despite a competitive performance. The match was a rematch of an October meeting, also won by Benevento.
