FROSINONE, Italy (Interstat) — Substitute Steven Shpendi scored twice to help Empoli FC secure a 2-2 draw with Frosinone in a Serie B match Friday at Stadio Benito Stirpe.

Shpendi opened the scoring in the 18th minute, but Frosinone’s Farés Ghedjemis leveled just before halftime. Shpendi struck again in the 54th, restoring Empoli’s lead, only for Ilias Koutsoupias to equalize six minutes later for the hosts. The result defied pregame projections that heavily favored Frosinone.

The match featured eight yellow cards, with all goal contributors also registering either a goal or an assist. Both clubs begin their league campaigns with a draw.
