PALERMO, Italy (Interstat) — Palermo delivered a commanding performance Saturday, defeating Virtus Entella 3-0 in a Serie B match at Stadio Renzo Barbera.

The hosts established control early as forward Joel Pohjanpalo opened the scoring in the fourth minute. Midfielder Filippo Ranocchia doubled the lead before halftime with a goal in the 41st minute. Niccolò Pierozzi, also a midfielder, sealed the victory five minutes after the break with a strike in the 50th minute.

The result extends Palermo’s strong league campaign, improving its Serie B record to 11 wins, three losses and four draws. Virtus Entella, which played to a draw with Palermo in November, struggled throughout and now sits at three wins, nine losses and five draws in the league competition. The outcome defied a pregame projection from Interstat’s simulator, which had forecast a 1-1 draw.
