MONZA, Italy (Interstat) — Monza scored twice in a 13-minute span late in the second half to rally past Avellino 2-1 in a Serie B match Sunday at U-Power Stadium.

Avellino substitute Tommaso Biasci opened the scoring in the 52nd minute. Monza responded with midfielder Matteo Pessina netting the equalizer, assisted by substitute Filippo Missori, in the 65th. Forward Patrick Cutrone then headed in the winner in the 78th, assisted by Patrick Enrici.

The victory solidifies Monza’s strong league position, improving its Serie B record to 11 wins, three losses and six draws. Avellino’s competition record fell to 7-8-6. The result reversed a prior meeting this season, which Avellino won 2-1 last September.
