WALS-SIEZENHEIM, Austria (March 6, 2026) (Interstat) — Liefering opened its 2. Liga season with a 4-3 victory over S-W Bregenz in a frenetic match Friday at Red Bull Arena.

The home side twice surrendered a lead before securing the win. Ilia Ivanschitz opened the scoring in the 11th minute, but S-W Bregenz answered with goals from Marc Striednig (26th) and substitute Bonaventure Lendambi (43rd). Liefering’s Phillip Verhounig then scored twice, including a goal just a minute after Lendambi’s equalizer and another in the 54th, to seal the result. Lendambi assisted on Striednig’s goal, while Johannes Tartarotti scored twice for the visitors in the second half.

The result defied a pregame projection that favored Liefering by a narrower margin. S-W Bregenz’s Marcel Moswitzer and Lendambi received yellow cards.
