(Interstat) — Tapatio opened its Liga de Expansión MX season with a decisive 3-1 victory over Club Jaiba Brava on Friday at Estadio Gregorio Tepa Gómez.

Sergio Aguayo gave the home side an early lead in the 22nd minute. Club Jaiba Brava’s Édson Torres leveled the match in the 52nd, but Tapatio responded immediately. Leonardo Jiménez restored the lead just two minutes later in the 54th, and Daniel Villaseca sealed the win with an 81st-minute goal.

The result defied a pregame projection from Interstat, which gave Tapatio a 67.5% win probability but forecast a 1-1 draw. The loss leaves Club Jaiba Brava with an 0-1 record to start the campaign.
