WINTERTHUR, Switzerland (Interstat) — Thun opened its Swiss Super League season with a commanding 3-0 victory over Winterthur on Wednesday at Stadion Schützenwiese.

The visitors broke through in the 55th minute when substitute Franz-Ethan Meichtry scored. Substitute Elmin Rastoder added another just four minutes later in the 59th. Thun sealed the win in the 83rd minute with a goal from Kastriot Imeri, another substitute, assisted by defender Mirlind Kryeziu.

Thun’s win defied Interstat’s pregame projection of a 2-1 scoreline, though its ELO system heavily favored the visitors. The result gives Thun a winning start to the league campaign, while Winterthur begins with a loss.
