IRAPUATO, Mexico (Interstat) — Irapuato and Min de Zacatecas opened their Liga de Expansión MX seasons with a 0-0 draw Saturday at Estadio Sergio León Chávez. The match, played April 18, 2026, defied a pregame projection that heavily favored the home side. Interstat’s game simulator had forecast a 1-1 result, while its ELO system gave Irapuato a 71.9% probability to win. The contest turned in the 64th minute when Min de Zacatecas’ Elbis was sent off with a red card. Both teams saw four substitutes receive yellow cards in a contentious final half-hour, but neither could break the deadlock. The result leaves both clubs with identical 0-0-1 records to start the competition.
