Tlaxcala Edges 10-Man Tepatitlan With Stoppage-Time Winner in Liga de Expansión MX Clash
TLAXCALA, Mexico (Interstat) — Jordan Silva scored in the fifth minute of second-half stoppage time to deliver Tlaxcala a 1-0 victory over Tepatitlan on Saturday at Estadio Tlahuicole.
The match turned in the 22nd minute when Tepatitlan’s Jesús Venegas was shown a red card, forcing the visitors to play a man down for most of the Liga de Expansión MX contest. Despite the disadvantage, Tepatitlan held firm until Silva’s dramatic late winner, assisted by Juan Blanco.
The match grew contentious, featuring seven yellow cards, including two to Blanco. The result improved Tlaxcala’s league record to nine wins, eight losses and 10 draws, while Tepatitlan fell to 8-5-12. Tlaxcala also completed a season sweep, having won 2-1 in the previous meeting last September.
