Preview: Atletico San Luis Hosts Pachuca in Liga MX Clash

SAN LUIS POTOSI, Mexico (Interstat) — Two Liga MX sides trending in opposite directions will meet Saturday when Atletico San Luis hosts Pachuca at Estadio Alfonso Lastras.

The match pits a struggling San Luis squad against a Pachuca team gathering momentum in the 2026 Clausura campaign.

Pachuca (5-3-2) arrives with confidence, riding a three-game winning streak in league play. Most recently, Los Tuzos earned a 2-1 home victory over Club Puebla on March 7, following a 2-1 win against Necaxa on March 3. Their form has been strong since a Feb. 27 road loss to Mazatlan, with the attack scoring multiple goals in three of their last four Liga MX matches.

In contrast, Atletico San Luis (3-6-1) is reeling from a 3-0 road defeat to Cruz Azul on March 7. That loss snapped a brief positive run that included a 4-1 home thrashing of Mazatlan on March 3. Defensive consistency has been an issue; the team has conceded three or more goals in four of its ten matches this season.

The recent head-to-head history favors the visitors. In their last meeting on Sept. 27, 2025, Pachuca secured a 2-1 home win over San Luis.

A statistical projection by Interstat forecasts a 1-1 draw for Saturday’s contest.

For Pachuca, a victory would solidify its position in the upper tier of the table ahead of a home match against Toluca on March 22. Atletico San Luis, seeking to stabilize its season, will look to leverage home advantage before a challenging visit to Monterrey on April 4.
