BANGKOK (Interstat) — Port FC opened its Thai League 1 campaign with a commanding 5-0 victory over Sukhothai at PAT Stadium on Saturday. The home side established a decisive lead with three goals in the first 21 minutes. Kaká Mendes opened the scoring in the 10th minute, followed quickly by Noboru Shimura in the 17th and Teerasak Poeiphimai in the 21st. The lopsided result defied a pregame projection that favored a narrow Port FC win. Sukhothai, which saw players Lucas Tocantins and Romeu receive yellow cards, was held scoreless. Both clubs now hold 0-0 records to start the league season.
