Late Goal Lifts Piast Gliwice Over Lech Poznan in Season Opener

GLIWICE, Poland (Interstat) — Andreas Katsantonis scored in the 83rd minute to give Piast Gliwice a 1-0 victory over Lech Poznan in an Ekstraklasa match Tuesday at Stadion Miejski im. Piotra Wieczorka.

The decisive goal came from a buildup involving substitutes Antonio Milić and Ali Gholizadeh, with midfielder Patryk Dziczek also credited with an assist. The match, which defied a pregame projection of a 1-1 draw by Interstat, was physical, featuring yellow cards for Gholizadeh, Milić and Dziczek.
