DOHA, Qatar (April 8, 2026) (Interstat) — Al Wakrah and Al Gharafa opened their Stars League campaigns with a thrilling 3-3 draw Wednesday at Stadium 974.

Al Gharafa’s Almahdi Ali scored deep in stoppage time to salvage the draw, capping a match that defied a pregame projection favoring Al Wakrah. The visitors twice held a lead through goals from El Amine Zouhzouh in the 25th minute and Álvaro Djaló just before halftime. Al Wakrah responded each time, with Ferjani Sassi and Yacine Brahimi finding the net. Luis Alberto put Al Wakrah ahead 3-2 in the 77th minute before Ali’s last-gasp equalizer in the fourth minute of added time.

Both teams now hold an 0-0-1 record in league play. Assim Madibo, Aron Einar Gunnarsson and Fabricio Díaz received yellow cards.
