GUAYAQUIL, Ecuador (Interstat) — Barcelona SC opened its Liga Pro season with a 2-1 victory over Orense on Sunday at Estadio Monumental Banco Pichincha.

Forward Octavio Rivero scored both goals for the home side, netting in the 28th and 85th minutes. Orense’s lone reply came from substitute Walter Herrera in second-half stoppage time, assisted by Gabriel Achilier.

The match was a physical affair, featuring seven yellow cards. Orense finished with 10 men after Bryan Quiñonez received a red card in the sixth minute of added time. The result aligned with Interstat’s pregame projection of a 2-1 Barcelona win.
