DOHA, Qatar (Interstat) — Al Rayyan and Al Duhail played to a 1-1 draw in a Stars League match Friday at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium.

Adil Boulbina opened the scoring for the home side in the 13th minute, finishing a play assisted by Bassam Al Rawi. Al Rayyan’s equalizer came from substitute Wesley in the 34th minute, set up by fellow substitute Ahmed Al Minhali.

The match was contentious, featuring seven yellow cards. The result left both Qatari clubs with identical records in league play: no wins, no losses and one draw. The match defied a pregame projection that heavily favored Al Duhail to win.
