AARAU, Switzerland (Interstat) — Aarau earned a 2-0 victory over Vaduz in a Swiss Challenge League match Friday at Stadion Brügglifeld.

The hosts secured the result with two goals in a decisive three-minute span early in the match. Midfielder Shkelqim Vladi opened the scoring in the ninth minute, followed immediately by a second goal. Forward Elias Filet then netted two quick goals of his own in the 11th minute to complete the scoring.

The win improves first-place Aarau to 19 wins, five losses and six draws in the league this season. Vaduz, which entered the match on a three-game unbeaten run, falls to 17-5-7. The result defied a pregame projection from Interstat that favored Vaduz. The teams will meet again in the league on May 11.
