Salford City FC Upsets Swindon Town W in Women’s FA Cup Thriller

SALFORD, England (Interstat) — Salford City FC upset Swindon Town W 3-2 in a Women’s FA Cup match Tuesday at The Peninsula Stadium, defying pregame projections. Interstat’s game simulator had projected a 1-1 draw, and its ELO system gave Swindon Town W a 67.8% chance to win.

Forward Ryan Graydon led Salford with two first-half goals, in the 11th and 52nd minutes. Swindon responded with three goals in a frantic eight-minute span. Substitute Ollie Palmer scored in the 55th minute, followed by Jimmy Ball in the 60th and Luke Garbutt in the 68th. The comeback fell short, securing the cup win for Salford.

Billy Kirkman, Ben Woodburn and Joel McGregor received yellow cards in the second half. Salford City FC advances in the competition.
