CHILLÁN, Chile (Interstat) — Nublense opened its Primera División season with a dominant 5-0 victory over Cobresal on Sunday at Estadio Bicentenario Municipal Nelson Oyarzún.

Forward Gonzalo Sosa led the rout with four goals, scoring in the 39th and 45th minutes before completing his hat trick in the 81st. Midfielder Federico Mateos added a goal in the 65th minute. The lopsided result defied a pregame projection that favored a draw.

Cobresal played a man down after Jorge Henríquez received a red card in the 28th minute. The match featured seven yellow cards. Nublense begins the campaign at 1-0-0, while Cobresal starts 0-0-1.
