SANTIAGO, Chile (Interstat) — Univ de Chile opened its Primera División campaign with a 3-2 road victory over Deportes Iquique on Saturday in a match featuring five first-half goals.

Álvaro Ramos put the visitors ahead just four minutes in at Estadio Tierra de Campeones. Matías Sepúlveda equalized for Iquique in the 30th, but Bryan Soto restored Univ de Chile’s lead before halftime. Maximiliano Guerrero and Lucas di Yorio then traded goals in a frantic five-minute span, securing the 3-2 result.

The win defied a pregame projection that favored Univ de Chile but anticipated a lower score. The match was marred by discipline, with six yellow cards issued, including three in the 89th minute. Univ de Chile begins the season 1-0, while Deportes Iquique starts 0-1.
