Late Own Goal Costs UCV Victory in Tense Draw

CARACAS, Venezuela (Interstat) — A second-half own goal forced Universidad Central de Venezuela FC to settle for a 1-1 draw with Carabobo in a Primera División match Sunday at Estadio Olímpico.

Yeiber Murillo gave the hosts the lead in first-half stoppage time, but UCV defender Alfonso Simarra inadvertently scored on his own net in the 66th minute to bring Carabobo level. The match turned chippy, with UCV’s Alexander Granko receiving a red card just before halftime. Both teams remain winless in the league season with one draw each.
