TIRANË, Albania (Interstat) — Luxembourg’s under-19 women’s national team opened its UEFA Championship qualification campaign with a decisive 4-0 victory over Liechtenstein on Friday.

Defender Vera Villegas led the rout with two goals, scoring in the sixth and 62nd minutes at Air Albania Stadium. Teammates Charlie Jorge Magalhaes and Joana Ribeiro Fernandes, also defenders, added a goal each in the 43rd and 52nd minutes, respectively. Substitutes Julia Beck and Enya Strunk each provided an assist but also received yellow cards.

The win gives Luxembourg U19 a winning start in the European qualifiers, improving its tournament record to one win and no losses. Liechtenstein U19 begins its campaign with a loss.
