TA’QALI, Malta (Interstat) — Latvia U19 defeated Kazakhstan U19 2-0 on Friday in a UEFA Under-19 Championship qualification match at MFA Centenary Stadium. Forward Paula Dzene opened the scoring in the 15th minute. Midfielder Anna Belova sealed the victory with a 74th-minute goal, assisted by substitute Anelya Meimanbay. Meimanbay also received a yellow card in the 44th minute. Latvia’s Uma Upīte was sent off with a red card in second-half stoppage time. With the win, Latvia U19 begins its qualification campaign with a victory, while Kazakhstan U19 starts with a loss.
