PONTEDERA, Italy (Interstat) — The Switzerland and Italy under-19 women’s national teams played to a 0-0 draw in a UEFA Championship qualification match Tuesday at Stadio Ettore Mannucci.

The result, a defensive stalemate, defied pregame projections that favored the Swiss side and predicted multiple goals. The match grew contentious in the second half, with five yellow cards issued between the 54th and 78th minutes, including four in a frantic four-minute span.

Both teams earned a point in the Group B6 standings, moving each side to 0-0-1 records in the qualifying campaign and across all competitions this season. The match was part of the UEFA Women’s U19 Euro 2026 preliminary round.
