PONTEDERA, Italy (Interstat) — Italy’s under-19 women’s national team delivered a stunning 10-1 victory over North Ireland on Wednesday in a UEFA U19 Championship qualification match at Stadio Ettore Mannucci. The result wildly exceeded projections, as Italy was only favored with a 71.8% chance to win. Forward Rosanna Ventriglia led the offensive explosion with a hat trick. Teammates Paola Taddei, Giulia Galli and defender Caterina Venturelli each scored twice in the dominant performance. The lopsided win opens Italy’s qualifying campaign with a victory, while North Ireland begins with a loss.
