CAYEY, Puerto Rico (Interstat) — A lopsided Liga Puerto Rico rivalry will be renewed Sunday when Escuela de Futbol Taurinos de Cayey hosts DS Edusoccer.

The matchup at Cayey’s home ground comes less than two months after Taurinos de Cayey delivered a historic 7-0 demolition of DS Edusoccer on Sept. 27. The visitors will be desperate to atone for that performance and halt a concerning slide in form.

DS Edusoccer’s season has been a rollercoaster, defined by defensive frailties. Following the 7-0 loss to Taurinos, the team conceded five goals in a loss to Ponce FC just last Saturday. Their campaign has featured heavy defeats, including a 9-1 loss to Acad Quintana and a 5-1 loss to Ponce FC in September. However, they have also shown a capacity for high-scoring wins, netting three or more goals in victories over Mayaguez, Guayama and San Juan.

In contrast, Taurinos de Cayey have been inconsistent but formidable at their best. They are riding a two-game winning streak, having defeated Mayaguez 2-0 and Guayama 3-0 in their last outing. Their 7-0 victory in the previous head-to-head meeting underscores their potential dominance.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, a similar result is projected for Sunday, with a final score of Escuela de Futbol Taurinos de Cayey 4, DS Edusoccer 1. Kickoff is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 23, 2025.
