SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (Interstat) — A pivotal Liga Puerto Rico clash is set for Saturday as first-place Ponce FC hosts a high-powered Caguas Sporting side in a rematch of their late-September thriller.

The match at Ponce FC’s home ground will feature the league’s top two offensive teams. Ponce FC (9-2-1) enters with momentum, riding a five-game winning streak following a 5-1 road victory over DS Edusoccer on Nov. 15. Their last loss was a 2-1 defeat to Acad Quintana on Oct. 11.

Caguas Sporting (7-5-0), despite a potent attack that has produced lopsided wins like an 11-0 victory over Mayaguez, is looking to rebound. The team is coming off a 2-0 loss to Puerto Rico Surf on Nov. 8, which snapped a three-game winning streak. Their last meeting with Ponce FC resulted in a 2-1 home loss on Sept. 27, a game that represents half of their total defeats this season.

The head-to-head advantage and current form favor the hosts. According to Interstat’s game simulator, Ponce FC is projected to win 3-1, a scoreline that would extend their lead atop the table.
