SEVILLA, Spain (Interstat) — Real Betis opened its La Liga season with a commanding 4-0 victory over Getafe on Sunday at Estadio La Cartuja de Sevilla.

Forward Aitor Ruibal led the emphatic win, scoring twice in the first half with goals in the 16th and 49th minutes. The home side then added two quick strikes after halftime, with Pablo Fornals scoring in the 52nd minute and Cucho Hernández adding another in the 60th. Substitute Allan Nyom provided an assist and also received a yellow card in the 22nd minute.

The result defied a pregame projection from Interstat, which had forecast a 1-1 draw and gave Betis a 61% probability to win. The victory gives Real Betis a winning start to both its league and overall campaign, while Getafe begins the season with a loss.
