RIO DE JANEIRO (Interstat) — Mirassol FC opened its Brazilian Serie A season with a 2-0 road victory over CR Vasco da Gama on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025.

Both goals came late at Estádio Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama. Substitute Renato Marques broke a scoreless deadlock in the 70th minute before setting up fellow substitute Carlos Eduardo for a clinching goal in the second minute of stoppage time.

The result marked a winning start to the league campaign for Mirassol, while Vasco da Gama began with a defeat. The outcome defied a pregame statistical projection that favored Mirassol but anticipated a closer, one-goal match.
