BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (Interstat) — Two sides trending in opposite directions will meet Monday when a surging Deportivo Riestra hosts a struggling Barracas Central in a Primera Nacional fixture.

Deportivo Riestra (6-5-4) enters the match unbeaten in its last three outings, including a statement 2-1 victory over River Plate on Sept. 28. Most recently, Riestra earned a 1-1 draw on the road against Godoy Cruz on Nov. 15. The club has shown a knack for securing results against top-flight competition, a trend they will look to continue at home.

Conversely, Barracas Central (1-7-7) is mired in a lengthy winless streak, having recorded just one victory in its last 10 matches. That lone win, a 2-0 result against Argentinos Juniors on Nov. 1, is a distant memory. Barracas is coming off a 1-1 home draw with Huracán on Nov. 17, its fifth draw in the last six games. A lack of finishing has been a persistent issue, with the team being shut out in six of its 15 matches this season.

According to the Interstat game simulator, the contest is projected to end in a 1-1 draw, a result that would extend Barracas Central’s run of frustrating ties and deny Riestra a coveted home victory.
