ANDAHUAYLAS, Peru (Interstat) — Los Chankas opened their season with a commanding 3-1 victory over Club Universi W in a Primera División match on Saturday. The home side took control early with first-half goals from midfielders José Manzaneda in the 14th minute and Franco Torres in the 38th. Club Universi W’s momentum was further hampered by a red card shown to Williams Riveros in the 42nd minute. Oshiro Takeuchi extended the lead for Los Chankas just after halftime before Club Universi W found a late consolation goal. The result defied a pregame projection that had favored the visitors.
