ROME (Interstat) — A struggling Parma Calcio 1913 side, mired in a goal drought, visits a resurgent Lazio Women in a Serie A Women’s fixture on Sunday.

Lazio (4-3-3) enters with momentum after a 2-1 road victory over Sassuolo on Monday. That win snapped a two-game losing skid against top-table rivals Inter Milan and AS Roma. The Roman club has shown a knack for securing results against mid- and lower-table opponents, with home wins over Genoa and Como earlier this season. Their attack, however, has been inconsistent, shut out in three of their last five league matches.

Parma (2-6-5) arrives under pressure, having failed to score in its last three matches. The club is coming off a 1-0 home defeat to Como on Dec. 7, preceded by scoreless draws with Ternana and Inter. Its last victory was a 2-1 win over Sassuolo on Oct. 12. A porous defense has also been an issue, conceding four goals in a loss to Roma in early October.

The statistical projection service Interstat simulates a narrow 1-0 victory for the home side, a forecast that aligns with both teams’ recent offensive struggles.

Historically, this matchup has been tight. In their first meeting this season on Sept. 21, the teams played to a 1-1 draw in Parma.

Lazio will look to build on its latest result and climb the table, while Parma desperately seeks to rediscover its scoring touch and halt a winless run that has stretched to five games.

Key Matchup: Lazio’s defense, which has been sturdy against non-elite sides, versus a Parma attack that has not found the net in 270 minutes of play. The visitors’ best result this season was a 1-1 draw with Fiorentina in November, demonstrating an ability to compete with stronger clubs, but replicating that on the road has proven difficult.
