MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (Interstat) — The West Virginia women’s soccer team delivered a commanding 5-0 victory over Wagner on Friday night.

The Mountaineers’ offense was prolific, with Abbey Olexa and Alicia Riggins each scoring two goals. Anna Hauer added another goal for West Virginia, which improved to 11-2-2. Maddie Levy contributed two assists in the win.

The Seahawks, who fell to 10-3-3, were held scoreless. An attendance of 736 watched at the Mountaineers’ home venue. The result defied a pregame statistical projection that had favored Wagner to win.
