Univ de Chile vs Coquimbo Unido

SANTIAGO, Chile (Interstat) — A surging Coquimbo Unido will look to continue its remarkable unbeaten run and complete a season sweep of Universidad de Chile when the Chilean Primera División rivals meet Tuesday at Estadio Nacional.

Coquimbo Unido (10-0-0 in its last 10 league matches) enters the contest in formidable form, having won its last match 2-1 over La Serena on Nov. 22. The streak includes a 1-0 home victory over Universidad de Chile on June 15 and a 2-1 win on Jan. 5.

“We respect their momentum, but our focus is on our home pitch and reversing that trend,” said Universidad de Chile manager Gustavo Álvarez.

La U is coming off a 1-0 road win against CD O’Higgins on Nov. 23 but has shown inconsistency, with a 4-3 win over Deportes Limache preceded by a loss to Universidad Católica.

The matchup pits Coquimbo’s league-best defense against a potent Universidad de Chile attack. According to Interstat’s game simulator, the most likely outcome is a 1-1 draw.

Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. local time.
