VIENTIANE, Laos (March 14, 2026) (Interstat) — Young Elephant delivered a stunning opening-day upset, thrashing EZRA FC 6-1 in Lao League play Saturday at Lao National Stadium. The visitors demolished statistical projections that heavily favored the home side, scoring five unanswered goals in a dominant first-half display. Kydavone Souvanny opened and closed the first-half barrage with goals in the 29th and 55th minutes. Jung Hyunwook, Peeter Phanthavong, Sengdaovy Hanthavong and Phoutdavy Phommasane also scored before the break for Young Elephant. EZRA FC’s lone reply came from Phoutphatai Chanthalangsy in the 74th minute.
