HAMRUN, Malta (Jan. 11, 2026) (Interstat) — Zabbar St. Patrick delivered a significant upset Sunday, defeating Gzira United 2-0 in a Maltese Premier League match at Victor Tedesco Stadium.

The visitors defied pre-game projections, which gave Gzira Utd a 75% probability to win. Zabbar St. Patrick seized control early, with Mayron scoring in the fourth minute. Mario Fontanella doubled the lead in the 30th minute.

The victory gives Zabbar St. Patrick a winning start to its league campaign, while Gzira Utd begins the season with a loss. The result contradicted a Interstat game simulator that had projected a 2-1 win for the home side.
