HAMRUN, Malta (Jan. 6, 2026) (Interstat) — Hibernians opened its Maltese Premier League campaign with a commanding 4-1 victory over Gzira United at Victor Tedesco Stadium on Tuesday.

The hosts took control with a first-half goal from Pedrão in the 28th minute. Lucas Villela doubled the lead in the 57th, and Miullen added a third just three minutes later to effectively seal the result. Gzira managed a consolation goal, but Hibernians netted a fourth to complete the rout.

The outcome defied a pre-match projection from Interstat, whose simulator had forecast a 1-1 draw. Its ELO rating system gave Hibernians a 65.3% probability to win. Both clubs opened their league seasons with the result.
