ROTTERDAM, Netherlands (Dec. 17, 2025) (Interstat) — AFC Ajax delivered a shocking 7-2 victory over Excelsior W in the KNVB Beker Women’s Cup on Wednesday at Sparta-Stadion Het Kasteel, defying a heavy pregame projection that favored the hosts.

Interstat’s ELO system gave Excelsior W a 68 percent probability to win, but Ajax’s substitutes dominated. Jorthy Mokio scored twice, while Owen Wijndal, Anton Gaaei, Don-Angelo Konadu, Rayane Bounida and Raúl Moro each added a goal. Excelsior’s replies came from Devin Plank and Jannick Verbont.

The result opens both teams’ cup campaign, with Ajax now 1-0 and Excelsior W 0-1 in the competition.
