Late Boushaba Goal Lifts Den Bosch in KNVB Beker Women’s Match
’S-HERTOGENBOSCH, Netherlands (Interstat) — Amine Boushaba scored in the third minute of second-half stoppage time to give Den Bosch a 2-1 victory over VV Katwijk in a KNVB Beker Women’s match Tuesday at Stadion De Vliert.
Substitute Mukhtar Cabdi opened the scoring for the visitors in the eighth minute, but Den Bosch defender Jeffrey Fortes equalized eight minutes later. The match appeared headed for extra time until Boushaba, who also assisted on Fortes’ goal, netted the dramatic winner. The result defied a pregame projection that favored Den Bosch to win 1-0.
Three yellow cards were issued in a seven-minute span midway through the second half. Den Bosch begins its cup campaign with a win, while VV Katwijk starts with a loss.
